The hippocampus is the part of the brain that is responsible for a person's memory and learning ability.
In an underage drinker the hippocampus can be 10% smaller than that part of the brain in an underage non-drinker.
Underage drinking affects the brain development of 12 to 21 year-olds.

The Task Force is a community action group made up of concerned individuals; representatives of the schools; the Village, local, social and civic organizations; and religious institutions. The Task Force educates youth and adults about drugs and alcohol, helps people develop drug-free attitudes and habits, and recommends resources to those whose lives are affected by drug and alcohol dependency.
